Services for Paul W. Walden, of Brandon, are 5 p.m. Monday, Feb.22, at North Brandon Church of Christ with burial in Verona CityCemetery on Tuesday. Ott & Lee Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Monday from 2:30 until 4:30 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Walden, 78, died Feb. 19, 2010, at Crossgates River OaksHospital in Brandon. He was born in Tupelo in 1931 to Elick Waldenand Pauline DeVaughn Walden.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, serving from 1950 to1954. He then graduated Mississippi State University. He was amedical technician/laboratory supervisor at the VA Medical Centerfor 40 years and retired in 1995.

Mr. Walden was the minister of Morton Church of Christ and for thepast 45 years served churches in Vicksburg, Hazlehurst, Utica,Monticello and Tennean Road Church of Christ. He has been involvedin mission work in Cuba and Jamaica for the past 20 years.

Survivors are his wife, LaRue Nash Walden; his sons, Wayne Waldenand wife, Kelly, of Paducah, Ky., and Wade Walden and wife, Kristi,of Brentwood, Tenn.; his daughter, Rene’ Fields and husband, David,of Brookhaven; his brother, Dr. Gerald Walden, of Ripley; and hisgrandchildren, David W. Fields, Thea Fields, Ryson Walden, CasonWalden, Michael-Ellen Walden, Caroline Walden, Lily Beth Walden andWhitman Walden.
