Services for Shirley Gwendylon Smith, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, at Gum Grove Baptist Church, Brookhaven,with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday, at Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service.

Mrs. Smith, 65, died Feb. 24, 2010, at her residence. She was bornon Oct. 20, 1944, to Lawrence Dana Higginbotham and DorothyPrestridge Higginbotham Gauthe.

She was a retired private duty sitter for 22 years and a member ofGum Grove Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her stepfather, ClaudeGauthe.

Survivors include her husband, Charles “Keith” Smith, ofBrookhaven; her sons, Clay Lewis and Clint Lewis and wife Fran; herdaughter Lee Dawson Wilson and husband, Joey; her brothers, Davidand Jimmy Higginbotham; her five grandchildren, Millane, Sidney andSawyer Lewis and Olivia and Dawson Wilson; a host of nieces andnephews; and a special friend, Jessie Carwyle.
