Carl Gregory “Greg” Corkern, of Monticello, passed away March24, 2010, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Mr. Corkern was preceded in death by a son, Carl Gregory CorkernJr.; his parents, W.C. “Pete” Corkern and Johnnie Fay Corkern; andtwo brothers, Wayne Corkern and Chris Corkern, all ofMonticello.

Mr. Corkern is survived by his wife, Amy Bates Corkern, ofMonticello; a son, Clint Corkern and wife, Sandy Harrison Corkern,of Tupelo; a daughter, Christy Corkern Wallace and husband, RickWallace, of Bogue Chitto; five grandchildren, Alan Corkern, AlexCorkern, Elizabeth Corkern, Josh Wallace and Dakota Wallace; onebrother, Clay Corkern; and four sisters, Pam Corkern, Kathy CorkernWalker (Sidney Walker) Veta Corkern Russell (Phillip Russell),Sharon Corkern Muenzenmay (Doug Muenzenmay), and a host of niecesand nephews.

A memorial service was held Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 1 p.m.at the Monticello United Methodist Church with a visitation at 11a.m. before the service at the church.

Riverwood Family Funeral Service was in charge of thearrangements.
