Deborah Smith Fugler

Services for Deborah Smith Fugler, of Brookhaven, are 10:30 a.m. onSaturday, April 10, at Damascus Baptist Church in Franklin County,with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family FuneralService is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home, andon Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of theservice.

Mrs. Fugler, 54, died April 6, 2010, at Hospice Ministries inRidgeland. She was born on Sept. 12, 1955, to Delton Willis Smithand Iva Lois Wooten. She was a native of Baton Rouge, La.

She was a graduate of Istrouma High School. She was a homemaker,and a member of Damascus Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her father, and her brother, DarrellWillis Smith.

Survivors are her mother; her husband, Kenneth Fugler; herbrothers, Gary L. Smith and wife Winona, of Baton Rouge, and RandyC. Smith, of Franklin County; and her sister-in-law, Dianne Smileyand husband, George.

Charles Steve Gibson

Services for Charles Steve Gibson, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Friday, April 9, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on North JacksonStreet, with burial in Easthaven Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Thursday from 4:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Gibson, 85, died April 6, 2010, at his residence. He was bornin Sontag on Sept. 5, 1924, to Van Steve Gibson and Sarah SmithGibson.

He worked in the logging industry. He was a U.S. Navy veteran ofWorld War II. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and attendedUnion Hall Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Burnell,M.L. and Purvis Gibson; and his sister, Ruby King.

Survivors are his wife, Mable Gibson, of Brookhaven; his daughters,Deanne Sunman and husband Jerry, of Homosassa, Fla., Kay Gibson, ofJackson, and Sarah Boyd and husband Ken, of Jackson; his brother,Roy Gibson, of McComb; his grandchildren, Michael Sunman, JeffreySunman, Brian Boyd and Stacey Jackson; and his great-grandchildren,Cade Jackson, Kendall Jackson, Chloe Boyd, Brianna Boyd, AddisonBoyd, Connor Sunman, Hayden Sunman, Jillian Sunman and RorySunman.

Gary McCaa Russum Sr.

Graveside services for Gary McCaa Russum Sr., of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. on Friday, April 9, at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson.The Rev. Danny Forrest will officiate. Glenwood Funeral Home inPort Gibson is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Russum, 75, died April 7, 2010, at Silver Cross Home inBrookhaven.

He lived most of his life in Port Gibson, where he was a graduateof Port Gibson High School. He was also a former member of theFirst Presbyterian Church in Port Gibson, where he served as adeacon. He was employed with the Charles Donald Pulpwood Company inPort Gibson for 50 years. He was a member of the MississippiA&FM No. 3 in Port Gibson. He was a member of the WessonBaptist Church.

Preceding him in death was his daughter, Renee Stevenson.

Survivors are his wife, Sybil Scott Russum, of Wesson; his son,Gary McCaa Russum Jr., of Wesson; his brother, George Russum, ofLorman; his sisters, Kathleen “Katie” Donald, of Port Gibson, andNell R. Gill, of Raymond.

Belbert Smith

Services for Belbert Smith, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Saturday,April 10, at Beulah Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Brookhaven,with burial in Carver Heights Cemetery in Brookhaven. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 71, died April 5, 2010, at his residence. He was born inLincoln County on July 13, 1938, to Elton Smith Sr. and Mary L.Bell Smith.

He was retired. He was a member of Mt. Wade Missionary BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Robert EarlBaker; his sisters, Agnes Hunter, Leona Young and Anna Lee Allen;and one great-grandson.

Survivors are his wife, Bertha Smith, of Brookhaven; his sons,Willie Bell, of San Diego, Calif., Neno Holmes, of McComb, RonnyBrown, Duaine Gayten and wife Karen, Kevin Gayten and Jarvis “JayJ” Smith, all of Brookhaven; his daughters, Debra Smith ofHazlehurst, and her fiancé, Troy Tanner, and Felice Lyles andhusband Ronald, of Brookhaven; his brothers, Willie B. Smith andwife Florine, of Brookhaven, Elton Smith Jr. and wife Willye Neal,McKinley Smith and wife Lou, and Lee Edward Smith and wife Pamela,all of Chicago, Ill.; his 15 grandchildren and ninegreat-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relativesand friends.
