Services for Gertrude Adams Hill, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Friday, April 23, at Mt. Wade Missionary Baptist Church inBrookhaven, with burial in Carver Heights Cemetery. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home,with family hour from 7 until 8 p.m.

Mrs. Hill, 96, died April 15, 2010, at her residence. She was bornin Brookhaven on Oct. 19, 1913, to Harvey Adams and Mary SimsAdams.

She was retired. She was a member of Mt. Wade M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, ElbertJohnson; her second husband, Perlie Hill; her sons, Versie SmithSr. and William Fairman Sr.; and 20 siblings.

Survivors are her son, Devitt Earl Johnson, of Gardena, Calif.; herdaughter, Gertrude Louise Scott, of Chicago, Ill.; her sister,Christine Tucker, of Chicago; her 35 grandchildren, 23great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren; and manynieces, nephews and other relatives.
