Funeral services for William L. Beasley, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel onNatchez Drive, with burial in Wanilla Baptist Church Cemetery inLawrence County.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Beasley, 77, died July 25, 2010, at his residence. He was bornin Lawrence County on Jan. 7, 1933, to O.D. Beasley and OllieDaughdrill Beasley.

He was a foreman for Chicago Bridge and Iron. He was a member ofHeucks Retreat Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of theKorean War, where he served as a paratrooper with Special Forces,Green Beret (Airborne).

Preceding him in death was his sister, Bobby Warner; and hisgreat-grandchild.

Survivors are his wife, Bertile Beasley, of Brookhaven; hisstepson, Kenneth Fuller and wife, Cathy, of Wesson; his daughter,Sandy Hicks and husband, Mike, of Lowell, Ark.; his stepdaughter,Belinda Rushing and husband, Kevin, of Brookhaven; his brother,Arthur Beasley, of Hattiesburg; his sister, Lois Mullins, of NewHebron; his granddaughter, Ashley Krug and husband, Jerrod; hisgreat-grandchildren, Brandon, Kaylee and Maddy Jerrod, all ofLowell; his stepgrandchildren, Kristin, Brooks and CourtneyRushing, all of Brookhaven; and his step-great-grandson, JeremyFuller, of Brookhaven.
