William Gray Shockley, 64, passed away Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, atKing’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. Services will beheld at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, at Stringer Family Funeral HomeChapel in Crystal Springs, with burial in Biloxi NationalCemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service atthe funeral home.

Mr. Shockley was a native of Little Rock, Ark. He was a graduate ofCooper High School in Vicksburg, where his dad served with theUnited States Army Corps of Engineers and his mother was a teacher.He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He served inthe United States Army in Vietnam as a communications officer. Hewas honorably discharged in 1995 after 20 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Turner Shockley; his stepsons,Matthew Young, of Brookhaven, and David Young, of Bogue Chitto; hissister, Beckie McDougal, of Vaiden; and three grandchildren.
