Lady Cats nip North Pike in 9

SUMMIT — The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats were victorious over theNorth Pike Lady Jaguars 1-0 in nine innings of work Monday night inslowpitch action.

“It was another slow night at the plate,” said BC head coach ScottLeggett. “Our defense played well enough to keep us in the ballgame.”

The Lady Cats will host the McComb Lady Tigers, Thursday night.Game time is set at 5 p.m. for junior varsity, followed by 6 p.m.for varsity action.

Kerri McGehee produced a strong pitching performance for the Cats,collecting two strikeouts and allowing no walks as the game wenttwo exgra innings.

Charnissa Gordon absorbed the loss for the Jaguars, providing a2-strikeout, 2-walk performance.

“Both teams played very well in the field, but struggled at theplate,” continued Leggett.

Bogue Chitto (4-1) was led offensively by Adrienne Wallace, DarcyMiller, Josie Porter, Toy Smith, Rheagan Welch and Mattie Avantswith a single apiece.

North Pike received a single from Rachel Kelly, Shelby Abdul-Hadiand Brianna McKenzie.

In JV action, The Cats squeezed out a win over the Jaguars7-6.

Shelby Crosby (3-0) collected the win for Bogue Chitto on themound.

Mallory Allen and Christian Black were the leading hitters for BCwith two singles apiece. Hailey Estess also contributed a triple.Heather Miller, Marshonikique Blackwell and Crosby provided asingle.
