Services for James H. Reeves, of Bogue Chitto, are 3 p.m.,Monday, Sept. 12, at Topisaw Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Harrigill Funeral Homeand again Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at thechurch.

Mr. Reeves, 86, died Sept. 8, 2011, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 20, 1924, to ClydeSamuel Reeves and Pearlie Wilson Reeves.

He retired from the maintenance department of St. Regis Paper Co.,Ferguson mill. He also retired from Georgia Pacific and the U.S.Navy. He was a member of Topisaw Baptist Church. He was a World WarII veteran and served in the Navy for 39 years and nine months. Healso served in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Mr. Reeves was a member of the Topisaw Masonic Lodge, theBrookhaven Shrine Club, the American Legion, Veterans of ForeignWars, Brookhaven Moose Lodge and the Woodmen of the World.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Shirley T.Skinner; his brother, Clyde K. Reeves; two nephews; and twogranddaughters.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Eula ‘Sue’ Reeves, of BogueChitto; his son, Clyde T. Reeves and wife, Rhonda, of Bogue Chitto;his daughter, Patricia R. Thomasee and friend Boots England, ofBogue Chitto; four grandsons, Cal and Kevin Thomasee and T.J. andBubba Reeves; two step-granddaughters, Morgan and Megan Daix; sixgreat-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
