Funeral services for Jessie R. “Jack”Hensarling, of Brookhaven, are 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, atBethel Temple Pentecostal Church in Brookhaven, with burial inHillcrest Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

    Visitation is Thursday from 5:30 until 9 p.m. at the church.

    Mr. Hensarling, 92, died Oct. 11, 2011, at his home. He was born inPerry County on Dec. 12, 1918, to John Ellis Hensarling and EllaHensarling.

    He was a retired contractor and builder and a World War II Navyveteran. He was a life member of the VFW Post 2618, where he servedas Commander and Quarter Master, and a life member of DAV Post 15,American Legion Post 79 and Combat Aircraft Service Unit 12 FClub.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Ruby; son, DennisHensarling; brothers, Elbert Hensarling, Edward Hensarling andHoward Hensarling; sister, Dorothy Hensarling; and grandson, ClayHart. 

    Survivors are his wife, Lola B. Hensarling, of Brookhaven; son,Charles Hensarling and wife, Carolyn, of Hattiesburg; daughters,Nelda Newman and husband, Jim, of Griffin, Ga., and Shirley Smith,of Douglasville, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Juanita Hensarling, ofSlidell, La; sister, Lynell West, of Runnelstown; stepchildren,Connie Taylor and husband, Mike, of Drummond, Tenn., Gwen Brooks,Faye Hart and Mitchell Britt, of Brookhaven; 13 grandchildren; 10great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel TemplePentecostal Church or Deaconess Hospice.
