Funeral services for Jimmie Edward Redd, ofWesson, are 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, at Sylvarena BaptistChurch in Wesson, with burial in Mt. Zion Church of ChristCemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.

    Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home andThursday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the church.

    Mr. Redd, 70, died Oct. 18, 2011, at St. Dominic-Jackson MemorialHospital. He was born in Mississippi on Oct. 25, 1940, to ParsonHigdon Redd and Ollie Mae Smith Redd.

    He was a graduate of West Lincoln Attendance Center and St. VincentHospital in Birmingham, Ala. He was a clinical lab supervisor atHardy Wilson Memorial Hospital and a member of Sylvarena BaptistChurch where he was a member of the church choir. He was also amember of Woodmen of the World.  

    Preceding him in death were his parents; and father-in-law, GeorgeBracknell.

    Survivors are his wife, JoAnne Bracknell Redd; daughters, SelinaRedd Lucas, Jennifer Redd Williams and Adrienne Redd Bane; sisters,Christine Johnston and Joann Richardson; mother-in-law, MirnithBracknell; and eight grandchildren, Adam Lucas, Laura Lucas, WillLucas, Michael Williams, Clayton Williams, Hallie Bane, Duncan Baneand Patton Bane.

    Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, HospiceMinistries or Sylvarena Baptist Church Music Ministry.
