Funeral services for Vallie Mae Smith, ofBrookhaven, were 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Brookhaven FuneralHome on Natchez Drive, with burial in Macedonia Baptist ChurchCemetery.

    Mrs. Smith, 95, died Feb. 11, 2012, at her home. She was born inBrookhaven on Oct. 26, 1916, to William T. and Ella WalkerSmith.

    She spent several years in retail sales for several businesses inthe Brookhaven area. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother andgreat-grandmother.

    Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Grady A. Smith;brothers, Alcus, David, Dewey, Earl, J.W., Virgil and Hollis Smith;and sister, Evonne Case.

    Survivors are her son, Bradley Smith and wife, Nena, of Wesson;daughter, Gradene Wooten and husband, Steve, of Star;sister-in-law, Bernice Smith, of Brookhaven; 10 grandchildren; 22great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces.

    The family would like to express appreciation to all of thecaregivers: Judy Lewis, Pat Lonardo, Jo Newell and Margie Lobb.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to FirstBaptist Church: Experience Renewal Building Program.
