“This was a big win for us to stay in the hunt,” said Enterprise coach Cass Brister. “We had a great pitching performance and got good timely hitting all night. Overall, I am pleased with the guys’ effort.”

Enterprise bounced back in the seventh inning by pushing across three runs to increase their lead and held off Wesson for the win.

Jackson Cole was the winning pitcher for the Jackets with seven strikeouts and two walks. Alex Smith suffered the setback for the Cobras with one strikeout and three walks. Enterprise out hit Wesson 11-5.

Senior shortstop Konner Burke sparked Enterprise with a home run and a single. Dylan fueled the flames with a double and a single. Blake Fugler, Logan Killingsworth and Braxton Foster contributed two singles apiece. Leighton Jordan singled.

The Cobras were directed with a single apiece from Paxton Cupit, Josh Smith, Alex Smith, Quentin Munn and Jacob Fischer.

“We did not show up with the right frame of mind,” said Wesson coach Seth Lofton. “Enterprise did a good job hitting the ball and pitching. Now, we must regroup and get ready for a battle against Loyd Star.”
