Funeral services for Mary Marie “Ree” Smith, of Bogue Chitto, were 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

     Mrs. Smith, 72, died Oct. 20, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Mississippi on Feb. 23, 1940, to Homer and Gay Ophelia Griffing Smith.

     She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; and mother-in-law, Virgie King Smith.

     Survivors are her husband, Alton K. Smith; sisters, Linda Smith Godbold, and Gayle Smith Gallaher; sister-in-law, Maxine Porter; and 18 great-nieces and nephews, Melissa Gallaher Yarborough and husband, Jay, Heather Godbold Marek and husband, Jason, Alison Gallaher Schmidt and husband, Richard, Matt Gallaher and wife, Elena, Benji Godbold and wife, Tara, Fred Porter and wife, Becky, Mark Porter and wife, Michelle, Teddy Porter and Kelly Porter and wife Beverly.

     In lieu of flowers, please make donations of Mt. Zion Church of Christ, Brookhaven.
