Funeral services for Paul Edwards, of Hazlehurst, were 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Rehoboth Methodist Church, with burial in Rehoboth Memorial Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.

     Mr. Edwards, 90, died Oct. 28, 2012, at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on April 21, 1922, to Jessie and Myrtis Edwards.

     He was a World War II veteran. He served two terms as Copiah County Supervisor District 3 from 1952-1960, and also served on the Hazlehurst City School Board. He was a retiree of the Army Corps of Engineers, where he worked as a welding foreman. He was a cattle farmer, tree farmer and a carpenter. Mr. Edwards was a lifetime member of Rehoboth Methodist Church and a founding member of the Barlow Volunteer Fire Dept.

     Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Betty Edwards; a son, Jimmy Edwards; a sister, Juanita Conn; and a brother, Donald Edwards.

     Survivors are his children, Michael and wife, Judy, Bobby and wife, Jane, Ricky and wife, Polly, Marie Burgess and husband, Tom, Edna Stevens and husband, Ricky, and Lisa Chandler and husband, Ernest; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lucye Reed; and brother, Nelson Edwards.

     Memorials may be made to Rehoboth Cemetery Fund.
