McComb nips Lady Cats

BOGUE CHITTO – Kamry Creel struck out 11 batters and walked 1 in pitching the McComb Lady Tigers to a 4-2 Thursday win against Bogue Chitto’s Lady Bobcats. Creel scattered 4 hits in the victory.

Christian Black (7K, 5BB) was the losing pitcher. She allowed 4 hits.

“We faced a good pitcher tonight,” said Bogue Chitto coach Scott Leggett. “Creel loves the outside half of the plate and she hit her spots.

“We helped her out by swinging at several pitches off the plate,” Leggett pointed out. “But when they are getting that call, you have to do something.”

“We will get better. We are just getting started.”

The Lady Cats (3-2) participate in Saturday’s Sebastopol Tournament., They play Choctaw Central at 12:50 and Sebastopol at 3:40.

Two singles by Kerri McGehee carried BC’s offense. Mallory Allen and Mattie Avants singled.

McComb got a double from Destiny Brown. Leyton Terrell singled twice. Bethany Davis and Creel singled.

Junior Varsity Results

Bogue Chitto beat McComb 5-3 in the JV game as winning pitcher Alana Nettles struck out 12 batters.

The Lady Cats got 2 singles fro Reagan Kirkland. Lauren Watts and Lauren McCaffery also hit safely.
