Funeral services for Jerry Weldon Holmes of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Bethel Temple Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Holmes, 73, died April 11, 2013 at Countrybrook Living Center. He was born in McPherson, Kan. on June 29, 1939, to Homer Holmes and Leila Jantz Holmes Busby.

He was the owner of Holmes Oilfield Service and was a member of Powells Grove Pentecostal Church. He was named Who’s Who in Mississippi.

Preceding him in death were his parents; mother-in-law, Lillie Bell Lambert; father-in-law, Elmer Lambert; and brothers-in-law, Connie Lambert, Donald Lambert and Earl Crawford.

Survivors are his wife, Donnis Holmes; brother, Henry Busby; sisters, Louise Cannon, Martha Walley, Donna Nations and Sandra White; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Beeson, Nonnie Crawford, Esta Lambert and Charlene Lambert; numerous nieces and nephews who will miss their very special uncle; and his two namesakes, Jeffery Holmes Kelly and Bryson Jerry Brister.
