Funeral services for Aline Lofton Byrd of Brookhaven are 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Byrd, 103, died July 4, 2013 at her home. She was born in Mississippi on April 13, 1910 to Isaac Lofton and Magdalene Ratcliff Lofton.

She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Byrd was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother – a true Christian lady who loved her family, church and Lord.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, William Lee Byrd; son, James William Byrd; and daughter-in-law, Flora Jean Calcote Byrd.

Survivors are her sons, Jerry L. Byrd and wife, Betty Douglas Byrd, and Keith Randall Byrd; daughters, Barbara Jean Byrd Robinson and husband, Dr. Jerry Robinson Jr.; 11 grandchildren, Wyatt Robinson and wife, Angie, Tom Robinson, Gina Robinson, Lee Robinson and wife, Wendy, Aimee Biojoli and husband, Joseph, Sherry Powell and husband, Ken, LaRue Byrd, Stacy Clanton and husband, Bruce, Kevin Byrd and wife, Carla, Karl Byrd and wife, Donna, and Mary Case and husband, Jason; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and special friend for 54 years, Cora Jenkins Smith.

The family gives a special thank you to Hospice Ministries and Mrs. Byrd’s caregivers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Ministries or the Pleasant Grove building fund.
