Lincoln County Board of Supervisors Board Business

The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, Jan. 20.

• A representative from Southwest Planning and Development District encouraged the board to apply for the Wildlife Fisheries and Parks Grant of the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

• Received letter from Mayor Joe Cox requesting that each group appoint representatives to meet and discuss actions regarding the baseball field. The board decided to write a letter back to Mayor Cox acknowledging and accepting the request.

• Approved reimbursement to the city of $594.95 for Interstate Lighting for the month of Dec.

• Approved to waive the Solid Waste bill for an account belonging to land that has never had a house on it. The bill of $714 was waived.

• Discussed drafting a financing plan for outstanding Solid Waste bill on an account in District 3. The Board also discussed whether or not this sets a precedent for financing past due debts for Solid Waste bills. No specific decision was made on that specific topic.

• Approved to strike the sale of land that is no longer for sale and refund the buyer.

• The Board was invited to a pre-construction meeting for a striping project that will add stripes, pavement markers and signage to roads in several districts. The meeting will be held at Dungan Engineering Thursday Jan. 22 at 10 a.m.

• It was brought to the Board’s attention that there was a bill recently introduced during the state’s legislative session proposing an increase in bridge funding.

• The Board will refinance an outstanding bond from 2005. The interest rate on the bond dropped considerably and refinancing would save the Board $109,000.
