Loyd Star at West Lincoln football game moved to tonight

The Loyd Star at West Lincoln football game scheduled for Friday night has been moved to today at 7 p.m. due to the possibility of severe weather.

The West Lincoln Bears will host the Loyd Star Hornets 24 hours early to avoid a line of potentially severe thunderstorms expected to arrive late Friday afternoon.

Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Clifford Galey said the Brookhaven area is on the edge of a National Weather Service severe weather warning area for Friday night that could include lightning from around 4 p.m. until after midnight.

“There’s a possibility that it could move east or west just a little bit, but at the very least tomorrow night we’re going to have some rain and thunderstorms,” he said.

The Brookhaven Academy home playoff game, the Brookhaven High School home game,  the Enterprise at Bogue Chitto game and the Wesson at Jefferson Davis County game will be played Friday at 7 p.m. as regularly scheduled.
