A piece of heavy equipment overheated and caught fire Monday morning at Rex Lumber’s pellet mill.

At approximately 8:55 a.m., Brookhaven Fire Department was dispatched to the call of a front loader on fire at the facility on North First Street. By 9 a.m. the fire was extinguished without having spread from the loader.
