MONTICELLO-Lawrence County handled McComb 10-0 Friday, in high school baseball action at Jimmie Davis Park. The victory completed a two-game Division 7-4A sweep of the Tigers. LCHS won, 16-0, at McComb’s Rotary Field on Tuesday.

With the win, Josh Garrett’s Cougars improved to 7-2 overall, and 2-0 in the division. This week, South Pike will be Lawrence County’s division opponent.

“Our guys took care of their business pretty well this week,” said Garrett, who is in his first year as head coach at his alma mater. “We’ve got an extremely challenging portion of our schedule ahead of us, but we’ve done decently so far. We need to play well in the division again this coming week.”

Thurman had a double, and Payton Davis added a single. Both Cougar JV runs came in the first inning with the benefit of a base hit.
