Co-Lin led 1-0 after the first inning, but saw Meridian score two runs in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth inning before Crum put Co-Lin on top.

“Crum came through in the clutch,” said Lady Wolves head coach Allen Kent.

Co-Lin led 4-1 after 2.5 innings, but Meridian answered with a six run bottom half of the third to take a 7-4 lead that Co-Lin could never overcome. “We couldn’t get an out on defense,” said Kent. “Everything they hit found a hole and our pitching defense, base-running, and offense let us down,” said Kent.

Savannah Johnston, Brooke Laigast, and Breanna McKenzie had two hits apiece for the Lady Wolves. Laigast hit a double, as did Payton Sheffield. Adrienne Wallace, Lauren Brashier, Kaitlyn Taylor, and Brittany Barbay all hit a single apiece for Co-Lin.

Jessica Crum hit a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh that gave Co-Lin their final runs. The freshman leads the team with 13 home runs and 49 RBIs this season through 30 games.

“We can’t lose these types of games and expect to make the playoffs,” said Kent.

Co-Lin is next scheduled to host East Central on Saturday, April 11 beginning at 12 p.m. in Wesson.
