Panthers win 2 on road; Enterprise goes down

Here’s a look at how area teams performed Thursday night in high school basketball action.

Brookhaven High

The Panthers went to Warren County and came home with a sweep over the 6A Warren Central Vikings on Thursday night.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Panthers (13-1) took a convincing 64-39 win. Junior Silentianna Collins led the Lady Panthers with 21 points. Senior forward Tamia Stallings added 18 points for BHS and junior guard Ayanna McNairy was also in double figures with 10 points. Junior Sharquita Cook added three points for BHS.

Genesis Frazier, Miyah Miller, Nefritiria Carter, Yacoriuna Braxton, Keyanna Benjamin, and Jayla Henry all scored two points apiece for the Lady Panthers.

In the boys’ game, the Panthers (12-2) got 22 points from Lafollette Bogan in a 54-44 win over the Vikings. Bogan also added 11 rebounds and four assists. Senior John Hilbert continued his strong play of late with a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jermario Hersey scored eight points and La’Darius Thrasher added six points for BHS. Isaiah Wall scored four points and Kadarius Wells rounded out the Panther scoring with two points.

Enterprise

It was a rough night in Lamar County for the Yellow Jackets, as Lumberton took a pair of wins away from Enterprise.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Panthers snapped a two-game Lady Jackets’ (5-8) win streak with a 46-20 win. In the boys’ game, Lumberton picked up their first win of the season with a 60-34 victory over the Yellow Jackets (4-9).

Enterprise next plays on Jan. 8 when they open region play by hosting Amite County High School.
