Basketball season kicked off this week at Brookhaven Academy with a tip-off classic that also involved Columbia Academy, Centreville Academy and Parklane Academy. Prior to the “pink” game on Monday, fans and supporters from each school that had been affected by cancer were honored in a ceremony on the court. Representing BA in the ceremony were Cougar fans Doris Winborne and Wanda Bullock. New coach Ron Kessler and the Lady Cougars defeated Centreville 60-47 Monday night before losing 58-46 to Parklane the next evening. BA is scheduled to play on Thursday at home against Amite School Center.
