Services for Gladys Kennedy of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Friday,July 21, at St. Mark M.B. Church with burial in Carver HeightsCemetery.

Family hour is Thursday, July 20, from 6-7 p.m. at Tyler FuneralHome.

Mrs. Kennedy, 89, died July 15, 2000, of heart failure at King’sDaughters Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on July13, 1911, to Johnny McDaniel and Beulah Parkman McDaniel.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark M. B. Church,where she was a member of the Missionary Society.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Willie”Nig” Kennedy; her daughter, Sue Kennedy; her brother, CharlesMcDaniel; and her sister, Josie Thompson.

Survivors are her son, Charles Kennedy of Brookhaven; herdaughters, Mary Louise Smith and Jean Gifford, both of Detroit,Mich., and Esther Tillman of Brookhaven; and 15 grandchildren,eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
