District Eight guns down District Seven

MERIDIAN – District Eight handed District Seven an 11-5 loss inthe semifinals of the State Games of Mississippi Sunday afternoonat Meridian Community College.

In the championship game, District One rolled over DistrictEight 15-4 for the championship. District One had beaten DistrictTwo 15-4 that Sunday morning.

Timmy Jones posted the win with five strikeouts and onewalk. Absorbing the loss was Jay Lindsey with four strikeouts andno walks.

Lindsey led District Seven with a double and a single.Singling twice was Charles Pittman. Fred Perkinstripled.

Billy Porter and Drew Robinson led District Eight with adouble and a single apiece. Mark Maddox singled twice. Doublingwere Chris Heath and Craig Smith.

District One 15, District Eight 4

Ripping three singles apiece for District One were BrettDonahoue and Josh McNeal. Mac Goodwin posted the win, striking outfive and walking none.

Billy Porter singled twice for District Four. BrianSeever fanned three and walked one.
