Services for Mabel Ethel Ball Sandifer of Chattanooga, Tenn.,are 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, at Lane-Coulter Chapel with burial onSaturday at 11 a.m. in Wesson Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 10 a.m. until service time at thefuneral home.

Mrs. Sandifer, 94, died Jan. 17, 2002, in Chattanooga. She wasborn in Chattanooga. She moved to Mississippi in 1949.

She was employed with Loveman’s Department Store for 15 years.She was a former employee of Bernard Evans Dress Shop in Jackson.She was a member of Capital Chapter Order of Eastern Star andserved as chaplain and in all points of the star. She had been aGray Lady volunteer with the American Red Cross at VeteransHospital in Jackson. In Wesson, she was a member of B&PW Cluband the Wesson Garden Club. She was a member of Spring Creek RoadBaptist Church in Chattanooga and most recently was a member ofMountain Creek Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband, John R. Sandifer Sr.,and her son, William Henry Sandifer.

Survivors are her sons, John R. Sandifer Jr. of Chattanooga andthe Rev. David Harold Sandifer Sr. of Campbellsville, Ken.; hersister, Juanita Rollins Ball of Chattanooga; and six grandchildrenand a number of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren,nieces and nephews.
