Funeral services for Ernest Dale Smith, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

     Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Mr. Smith, 61, died Sept. 16, 2012, at his home. He was born in Mississippi on Oct. 26, 1950, to Ernest Smith and Mamie Dell Callender.

     He was a graduate of Loyd Star Attendance Center. He was a pipe fitter and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and gardener, but his passion was fishing in the Mississippi River. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

     Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Roger Smith; and sister Mercedes Dunaway.

     Survivors are his wife, Wendy Kinsey Smith; sons, Ernest Matthew Smith and Nicholas Caye Smith; daughter, Mamie Laura Smith Broxson; brothers, David Smith, Leo Smith and Andy Smith; and sisters, Viola Rae Reeves and Janice Falvey.
