Three unanswered Parklane Academy (1-1, 0-0) first quarter touchdowns proved to be too much to overcome for Brookhaven Academy Friday night in McComb. (0-2, 0-0) The Pioneers defeated the Cougars 34-6.

Parklane senior quarterback Carr Young threw three first-half touchdowns and took the Pioneers to the locker room with a 27-6 lead at halftime. The Cougars would find the end zone\ on their second drive of the second quarter when quarterback Heath Hickman found running back Connor Dorman for a 41-yard touchdown pass.

With Dorman rushing for over 100 yards last week against Centreville, the Pioneer defense committed to stopping the Cougars run game. The senior could not break free for big gains and finished with only 32 yards rushing on 11 carries. He added 45 yards on three catches. Sophomore Grayson Devito and senior Michael Fiorella totaled 28 yards on seven combined carries.
