SUMMIT – The Copiah-Lincoln Lady Wolves snapped a four-game losing streak with a sweep of the Southwest Lady Bears on Monday in Summit. Co-Lin 5, Southwest 3

Southwest held a 3-1 lead as the game moved to the top of the seventh inning. Freshman Lauren Brashier led off the inning with a single for Co-Lin. A McKenzie Brock sacrifice bunt moved Brashier to second. Brashier then moved to third on a Mattie Avants single. The next batter, Savanah Johnston, flied out to foul territory, and Southwest was one out away from ending the game. Brittany Barbay then reached on an error on her hit to third base. Pinch runner Greta Carley scored on the play. Avants, who had previously stolen second, moved to third on the error. That all set the stage for Crum’s heroic hit, a three-run bomb that gave Co-Lin their first lead. It was her 11th homerun of the season. Crum also had an RBI in the third inning that put the first Co-Lin run on the board. Crum leads the team with 42 RBIs this season.
