Services for Abbie Louise Deare Maxwell, of Monticello, are 10a.m. Friday, July 1 at Monticello Baptist Church with burial inMonticello Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home inMonticello.

Mrs. Maxwell, 69, died June 28, 2005, at Lawrence CountyHospital. She was born in Lawrence County on Sept. 18, 1935, toAlbert Barney Deare and Hautie Mae Davis Deare.

She retired as a nursery school teacher, after 20 years. She wasan active member of Monticello Baptist Church where she sang in theSenior Adult Choir.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Shelby R.Maxwell; and two brothers, Willie B. and Prentiss LavelleDeare.

Survivors are her sons, Williard Maxwell, of Madison, and ReggieMaxwell, of Monticello; her sisters, Ida Elouis King and Sylvia MaeGivens, both of Monticello; John Sexton Deare, of Monticello; eightgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
