County school board takes care of routine matters in brief meeting

In a brief meeting, the Lincoln County School Board on Monday night gave final approval to financial statements for the 2012-2013 fiscal year and handled agenda items and 16th section matters.

Cheryl Shelby, business manager for the board, presented the financial statements for July, August and September to wrap up the fiscal year for 2013.

“We are in good financial shape,” Shelby said.

Shelby notified board members that the Department of Education would be seeking more input from board members into the future.

“I hope you are ready for some additional reading material,” Shelby told the board.

Eight agenda items were passed at once, including the following:

• Approval of a donation from booster club.

• approval of a family medical leave request.

• Approval of student releases or transfers for 2013-2014.

• Approval of disposal of fixed assets.

• Approval of online board policies.

• Approval of sole source.

The board then approved all 16th section matters before the board.

The board also considered and approved a docket of claims.

Assistant Superintendent Letha Presley filled in for Superintendent Terry Brister at Monday night’s meeting.

The board will meet again Nov. 4 at Enterprise High School at 4 p.m.
