Enterprise’s speed and athleticism proved to be the difference for Coach Jill Nations’ Lady Jackets as they thumped the St. Andrews Lady Saints.

An exciting and fast-paced first half favored the Lady Jackets as they held a 31-24 advantage at intermission. A late second half surge wasn’t enough for St. Andrews to spoil Enterprise’s winner.

Kristin Jergins led Enterprise (3-5) with 15 points. Markie Case added nine points for the Lady Jackets. Andrea Reed pulled down nine rebounds to lead the home team in victory.

A hot start with the three-point shot Tuesday night propelled the Enterprise boys to a win on their new home floor over St. Andrews.

Enterprise (7-1), jumped out to an 18-9 first quarter advantage. The Yellow Jackets were able to maintain a 31-23 lead at halftime.

Several key stops on defense and clutch free-throw shooting helped Enterprise turn back a second half run by the Saints and hold on for the victory.

“We shot the ball really well to start,” said Enterprise coach John Knight. “We’ve got to do a better job of playing with a lead.”

The Yellow Jackets were led in scoring by John Gray’s 24 points. Dewayne Pendleton added 19 points and Forrest Scott chipped in 13 points.
