Co-Lin trio selected NJCAA All-Americans

WESSON – The cherry on top of the awards season has come for the Copiah-Lincoln football team as the National Junior College Athletic Association has recognized the 2013 All-Americans.

Three members of the Wolfpack were selected for the prestigious honor by the NJCAA.

Sophomore wide receiver Casey Gladney was selected First Team Offense, freshman defensive lineman Demond Tucker was selected First Team Defense, and linebacker Jordan Harris was selected Second Team Defense.

Gladney, a 6-0, 185 lb. sophomore from Columbia, S.C., was named MACJC Most Valuable Offensive Back, NJCAA All-Region 23, and MACJC First Team All-State. Gladney also named MACJC Second Team All-State as a kick returner. He averaged 108.6 receiving yards per game, second in the NJCAA and first in the MACJC. Gladney finished the season with 977 yards receiving and eight touchdowns. He is verbally committed to the University of Cincinnati.

Tucker, a 6-1, 285 lb. freshman from Hazlehurst, was named MACJC Most Valuable Defensive Lineman, NJCAA All-Region 23, and MACJC First Team-All State. Tucker finished third in the nation with 13 sacks and he made 33 tackles for the season.

Harris, a 6-0, 235 lb. sophomore from Clarksdale, was named NJCAA All-Region 23 and MACJC First Team All-State. Harris led the NJCAA and the MACJC in total tackles with 124 and averaged 13.8 tackles per game. He is verbally committed to Iowa State University.
