Area schools plan to be closed Tuesday due to the winter weather forecast. Precipitation in the form of snow, sleet and freezing rain is predicted Tuesday and possibly continuing into Wednesday morning. (Please see related winter weather stories at dailyleader.com).

The Brookhaven public schools, Lincoln County public schools, Brookhaven Academy, Copiah County public schools, Franklin County public schools and Lawrence County public schools will be closed Tuesday .

Area school officials will make a decision on Wednesday’s schedule by Tuesday afternoon.

All campuses of Copiah-Lincoln Community College will be closed on Tuesday. A decision on Wednesday will be made at a later time.

The Brookhaven School Board meeting previously scheduled for Tuesday night has been rescheduled for Thursday night at 6:30.
