Wednesday closings announced in area

DAILY LEADER / RACHEL EIDE / Hardy Lane in Brookhaven looks like a winter wonderland Tuesday afternoon as a heavy snowfall continues around 2 p.m. Few travelers were getting out on the slippery roads in the area, and local schools were closed Tuesday and plan to also be closed Wednesday due to the weather.
As snow continues to fall in Brookhaven and the surrounding area Tuesday afternoon, closing notifications continue to be released.
Public schools in Lincoln County, Franklin County and Lawrence County will be closed Wednesday. Brookhaven Academy also will be closed Wednesday. Information regarding Copiah County schools’ Wednesday schedule has not yet been received.
Copiah-Lincoln Community College also will be closed Wednesday due to the weather.
The Lincoln County Courthouse will be closed on Wednesday as well.
The driver’s license station at 160 Highway 84 East, Brookhaven, will open Wednesday at noon.
