DAILY LEADER / KATIE WILLIAMSON / HEALTHY RECIPES - Lorie Carter, project director with Mississippi Tobacco Free Coalition for Lincoln and Copiah County, and Elizabeth Smith with King's Daughters Medical Fitness Center hand out healthy recipes to Paul K and Oree Walker at the Brookhaven Farmer's Market Tuesday in the Godbold Transportation Center. Carter and Smith are part of the Healthy Hometown Committee that is responsible for the recent $50,000 Healthiest Hometown in Mississippi awarded to Brookhaven from Blue Cross Blue Shield. The committee will continue to have representatives at the farmer's market and other community events as a way to promote local wellness awareness.
