Jackson signs with William Baptist

John Paul Jackson is taking his baseball talents to the next level. Brookhaven Academy’s first baseman has signed a baseball scholarship with the William Baptist Eagles, a NAIA College out of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.

Jackson, signed his official scholarship papers Monday morning in the Brookhaven Academy Library. He is the son of Paul W. and Becky Jackson.

Members of the senior class, baseball team and family members were present to celebrate John Paul’s great moment.

John mentioned that he is considering a career in business administration with a minor in wildlife management.

Prior to his senior year, Jackson batted a .286 for the Cougars and posted 10 RBIs last season in his junior year.

“I am extremely proud of John Paul,” said Brookhaven Academy coach Casey Edwards. “He has worked hard for the past four years to earn this opportunity. I know he will continue to work hard for his next coach, and I wish him the best of luck at the next level.”
