Wolfpack finish third in East Central Tournament

PHILADELPHIA – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolfpack finished third in the MACJC Event #3 hosted by East Central Community Collage at Dancing Rabbit Golf Course in Philadelphia. The Wolfpack shot a two-day total of 620, two shots behind second place Mississippi Gulf Coast (314-304 – 618). Meridian took first place honors at 593 (294-299).
Northwest Mississippi, who began the day in second place, fell to fourth place (311-313 – 624), followed by East Central (314-309 – 623), Northwest Mississippi (329-304 – 633), Northeast Mississippi (314-314 – 628), East Central (324-310 – 634), East Mississippi (320-316 – 636), Hinds (324-329 – 658) and Jones County (348-348 -696).
Individually for the Wolfpack, sophomore Ryan Desormeaux of Broussard, Louisiana, finished tied for sixth place at 148 (77-71). Teammate Gregory Causey of Petal finished in tied for eighth place at 151 (75-76) followed by Jacob Ross of Brookhaven at 155 (75-80) and Tyler Jelks of Centreville, competing as an individual, finished at 155 (79-76). Sophomore Will Lee of Brookhaven finished at 166 (86-80) and Drake Nelson of Monticello finished tied at 171 (89-82).
Taking medalist honors was Alex Tull of Northeast Mississippi with a 1-under par 143 (72-71) followed by Grant Motter of Mississippi Gulf Coast at 144 (73-71).
Co-Lin returns to action on April 6-7 in the fourth tournament of the season hosted by Northwest Community College at Wedgewood Golf Club in Olive Branch and Back Acres in Senatobia.
