Alexander girls win District, boys finish second

The Alexander Junior High Girls track team finished in first place in their district track and field meet on Thursday, April 9, in Tylertown. The boys’ team ended up finishing in second place with 8 points.

In the girls for Alexander Junior High results in the field events, Tamia Stallings finished in first place in the shot put event. Tamia Elmore placed third in the high jump. Ayanna McNairy secured first place in the long jump.

In the track events, Shantraille Haynes took first place in the 100-meter hurdles. Danielle Culbert captured first place in the 100-meters dash. Tamia Elmore, Jashnna Finley, Ayanna McNairy and Danielle Culbert won the 4×200 meter relay.

Miyah Miller took home first place and Abigail Roberts placed second in the 1600-meter run. Ayanna McNairy, Jashunn Finley, Keyana Benjamin and Danielle Culbert won the 4×100 meters relay.

Charjuan Crossley finished in first place in the 400 meters dash. Tiara Johnson secured first place in the 800 meters run. Tamia Elmore took home second place in the 200 meters dash.

Miyah Miller, Tiara Johnson, Ayanna McNairy and Charjuan Crossley won the girls 4×400 meter relay to sweep the relay events for Alexander Junior High.
