TERRY – The Loyd Star Hornets captured an 11-9 victory over the Terry Bulldogs Saturday afternoon in baseball action.

“I’m proud of the hard fought victory,” Loyd Star Coach Jared Britt said. “Some kids stepped up in big situations and made some key plays. It was a total team effort. Our bats came alive today and helped us get some run support for our pitchers. It was good to beat a high quality team in Terry.

The Hornets (14-5, 9-0) will resume action Monday as they host the West Lincoln Bears for a Region 7-2A baseball contest. Junior varsity action begins at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m.
