Hornets tangle with Tigers in Florence

Loyd Star (1-0),  coached by second year head coach Adam Cook, placed the Possum Bowl trophy back in their trophy case for another season, after defeating the Bogue Chitto Bobcats 32-20 last week.

The Hornets will be looking to continue their success Friday as they travel to take on the McLaurin Tigers.

Loyd Star’s top offensive performer last week was running back Javion Beard with nine carries for 126 yards. Parker Flowers contributed 118 yards on 14 carries.

Defensively, Flowers led the team with 13 tackles. Lakin Wallace provided 11 tackles.

My pick:  Loyd Star prevails over McLaurin 20-14.
