Lady Bears cruise past Lady Bulldogs

The West Lincoln Lady Bears cruised past the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs 12-2 Thursday night in slowpitch softball action at West Lincoln’s softball field.

The Lady Bears (11-0) will return to action Tuesday as they prepare to host the Bogue Chitto Lady Cats. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.

The Lady Bulldogs will also be in action Tuesday as they host the Amite County Lady Trojans. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.

West Lincoln 12, Franklin Co. 2 

The undefeated Lady Bears quickly took care of business Thursday night as they hammered the Lady Bulldogs to secure the victory in a five-inning contest.

Makennah Redd was the winning pitcher for West Lincoln with no strikeouts and no walks.

Sydney Scott suffered the setback on the rubber for the Lady Bulldogs with no strikeouts and two walks.

Sara Jane Doty powered the Lady Bears’ offense with three singles. Layton Sill and Millane Lewis contributed a pair of singles. Peyton White ripped a triple. Hitting safely were Hanna Moak, Makennah Redd, Alli Mullins, Jana Case and Megan Gerald.

Brandi O’Neal directed the Lady Bulldogs at the plate with two singles. Bre William provided a double. Tabitha Thompson and Taylor Smith hit safely.
