No. 1 Co-Lin handles Trojans 58-14

MOORHEAD – The No. 1 Copiah-Lincoln Wolfpack looked sluggish in the early going, but exploded for 58 unanswered points to take a 58-14 win over Mississippi Delta on Thursday night.
The Trojans scored 14 points in a two-minute span late in the first quarter to stun the Wolfpack and ignite the home crowd. The first score came on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Gregory Conley to Mike Williams. The two would hook up again later in the quarter, this time from 40 yards, to give Delta a 14-0 lead. In the first half Co-Lin lost two fumbles, one of them into the Delta end zone, and also had a botched punt snap that led to a turnover on downs.
The Wolfpack got on the board with 1:53 remaining in the first quarter when reigning National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Offensive Player of the Week Lakedric Lee scored on a three-yard touchdown run. Lee would add another 3-yard TD run in the third quarter.
Co-Lin tied the game early in the second quarter on a three-yard touchdown run by freshman Ladarius Galloway. Galloway, a native of Indianola, added another 3-yard scoring run in the third quarter.
Co-Lin quarterback Garrett Kruzcek finished 20-of-26 for 355 yards and three touchdown passes. His 19-yard touchdown pass to Kendrick Catchings put Co-Lin up 21-14 with 6:21 remaining in the first half. Co-Lin led 28-14 at halftime. Kruzcek also threw touchdown passes to Matias Robinson (11 yards) and Alexander Hollins (34 yards). Catchings capped the Co-Lin scoring with a 35-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.
Adrian Scott and Jaquarius Landrews had an interception apiece for the Wolfpack defense. Freshman defensive back Colton Magee registered three sacks for Co-Lin. The Co-Lin defense held the Trojan offense to 15 passing yards and 29 rushing yards in the second half. Freshman wide receiver DeAndre Barnes caught seven passes for 101 yards. Greg Nickles went 6-6 on PAT kicks for the Wolfpack.
Co-Lin opens MACJC South Division play when they host Southwest on Thursday, Sept. 17. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Stone Stadium in Wesson.
