Hinton battled for a 7-5, 6-1 win over Pennington at No. 3 singles while Nelson rolled over Armstrong 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. The two losses in singles were Jones County’s win at No. 2 singles as Leal beat Skylar Moody 6-0, 6-1 and at No. 4 singles when Tamberg squeezed out a third set tiebreaker win over Thompson 7-5, 1-6, 11-9.
“A win over Jones County is a big win and they are a well-coached team that always plays hard, ” said Co-Lin head tennis coach Brenda Smith. “The fans created a fantastic atmosphere for the team and we played with great focus.”
