Wolfpack finish fourth in Mississippi College Invitational

MADISON – The Co-Lin Wolfpack golf team resumed the second half of the season finishing fourth Monday in the Mississippi College Invitational held at Lake Caroline Golf Club in Madison. The Wolfpack was one of three community college teams playing in the 14-team tournament.
Meridian Community College captured first place firing a two-day/three round total of 865, 10 shots ahead of second place William Carey University and the University of West Alabama (875). Following the Wolfpack (895) were Millsaps College (896), Christian Brothers (901), Trevecca Nazarene (902), Mississippi College (910), Union University (923), Webster (927), Belhaven University (943), East Central Community College and Mississippi College B (944), and Louisiana College (971).
Individually, Co-Lin’s Joseph Dendy finished in sixth place at even par 206 followed by Philip Heine who tied for eighth place at 218. Meridian’s Grant Renegar took medalist honors with a 7-under 209. Co-Lin’s Brandon Blakney finished at (229), Cole Arseneault at (232), and Jason Byrd at (256).
The Wolfpack will be back in action Ron Marshall Spring Fling on March 17-19, at Goose Pond Colony Golf Club in Scottsboro, Alabama.
