Wolfpack capture second in MACJC Tournament
COLUMBUS – The Co-Lin Wolfpack golf team captured second place in the MACJC Tournament hosted by East Mississippi Community College held at Lion Hills Country Club in Columbus Saturday.
The Wolfpack started the final day with a four-shot lead over second place Mississippi Gulf Coast. But the Bulldogs shot a blistering 287 in the final round to finish at 590 (303-287), two shots ahead of the Wolfpack at 592 (299-293).
Finishing in third place was Meridian at 596 (307-289) followed by East Mississippi at 626 (314-312), East Central at 628 (324-304), Northwest Mississippi at 653 (327-326), Itawamba at 657 (336-321), and Hinds at 669 (344-325).
Individually, Co-Lin freshman Philip Heine led the way shooting even par 144 (75-69) followed by Joseph Dendy (76-75) and Jason Byrd (76-75) at 151, first round leader Cole Arseneault (72-80) and Brandon Blakney (78-74).
The Wolfpack return to action at the MACJC Event No. 7 hosted by Meridian Community College on April 11-12 at Briarwood Country Club in Meridian.
