DAILY LEADER / LYNDY BERRYHILL / Yellow security tape has been placed across the entrance gate to the Ingram Street water tower after an accident occurred at the site late Wednesday morning.

Late Wednesday morning, a construction worker was involved in an accident at the water tower on Ingram Street near Mamie Martin Elementary School.

The man was an employee of the industrial construction crew that has been contracted to sandblast and repaint the water tower on Ingram Street, officials said.

Officials refused to release any personal information about the employee until after they had contacted the family, but Detective Clint Earls, of the Brookhaven Police Department, did confirm an accident had taken place at the construction site while the employee was working on top of the tower.
