Junior Madison Moak led the Lady Cougars with a pair of doubles in the loss. Abby Grace Richardson homered, and Bailee Goodson also doubled for coach Becky Flowers.

Richardson drove in three runs and Reagan Newman had a pair of RBIs as well.

The team then bounced back to get a run-rule shortened victory over division foe Oak Forest Academy 13-2 in their next game.

Richardson again homered in the win while also hitting a double. Goodson had another double, as well.

Emme Barrett and Emily Claire Felder drove in two runs each while Richardson led the team with four RBIs.

Needing a win to stave off elimination and to move closer to qualifying for the state tournament, BA dropped a tough 5-4 decision to division opponent Silliman Institute in the season finale.

Kensy Covington had the lone extra base hit for BA with a double. As a team the Lady Cougars had five hits in the loss.

Moak had a pair of hits while Richardson and Felder both also hit safely.

Hillcrest Christian won the South State title by beating Silliman. Both teams along with Hartfield and Simpson Academy move on to the state tournament this week.
